Description	:	RAYMOND'S OBITUARY Raymond Strom, 73, of Brookings formerly of Beresford, SD died December 18, 2014 at The Neighborhoods at Brookview, Brookings, SD. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Rude's Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Raymond John Phillip Strom was born on September 12, 1941, the son of Herbie and Josie (Hansen) Strom, in rural Beresford, SD. He attended country school and graduated from Beresford High School in 1959. During his youth Raymond was active in 4-H and Future Farmers of America. He attended South Dakota State University for one year. Raymond was united in marriage to Kay White in 1960. They raised their two sons, Scott and Brad, on the family farm near Beresford. In 1973 the family moved to the Elkton area, where he was the manager at Buffalo Ridge Ranch. Raymond gained a love for horses while he was farming. Later on he farmed for his cousin, Kendal Swee. Raymond continued to work, in various capacities, until his stroke in 2011. After his stroke he moved to The Neighborhoods at Brookview. Raymond enjoyed his stay there, even more so when his family and friends would visit. His grandsons will always hold a special place in his heart. Raymond is survived by his sons, Scott Strom of Aurora, SD, Brad (Stacey) Strom of Brookings; two grandsons, Alec Strom and Logan Strom; mother, Josie Strom of Beresford, SD; two brothers, Charles and Philip; three sisters, Elizabeth, Emilie and Sarah; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbie; infant son, Christopher; brother, Roger.
