Read More	In an excerpt from his wife Esther Marie (Lien) Murphy Enders, who wrote of her family history March 10, 1978 to her cousin Ken Torgersen for his genealogy book on the Lien family. . . . My first husband (Ernest "Pat" Murphy) died at age 44 in Kalispell, Montana, May 4, 1944. I sold my little acreage and went to live with sister Olga (Mrs. Helmer Olson) in Bremerton, WA and worked in the Navy Yard, as so many others, during the War. But I got homesick for Montana and came to Kalispell, and got a real nice job, cooking at a lovely summer home on Swan Lake. I got acquainted with the caretaker and his wife, Mary, who is now my sister-in-law. She gave me Ray Enders' address, so being lonely, I wrote to him. He was in the Army Medical Corps in the South Pacific. He came home on furlough, and came to see me in Bremerton, WA and from then on we were making plans to marry. Ray was discharged in October 1945, and we were married on December 11th, so we have had over 30 years together. Ray has been retired now since September 1975. He worked for 34 years at the lumber mill here, now owned by the St. Regis Paper Co. We have a little home about 5 miles from town (Libby, Montana) near the Koutenai River. We enjoy the retirement, we have a big garden and some flowers. I love to do handiwork in my spare time, and Ray's favorite hobby is guns. He does a lot of target shooting, and does a rifle stock once in a while. Of course, he hunts in the fall - big game and upland birds. We have a beautiful English Setter, that helps find grouse for him. And while they do all the hunting, I get a lot of reading done. Libby is a very nice little town, and it is on the western slope so we don't get the cold here like east of here. She later closes the letter, Yours with Affection, Esther Marie Enders.
