Rebecca married John Watson Nichols Aug 17, 1938 in Plymouth. John died in 1941 in Campton at age 32 from spindle cell sarcoma (soft tissue tumor). Rebecca married Horace Boynton June 09, 1944. Horace died 1958. Rebecca married Henry MacDonald third. Obit: Rebecca Ada (Page) Nichols, Boynton MacDonald, age 90 of Sinclair Hill New Hampton passed peacefully at home. She was born in Campton and moved to New Hampton in 1947. She was employed as a spinner at LW Package Co for 43 years. She started making afghans after her retirement at age 64 and made so many that at her 80th birthday her family and friends had a parade each carrying one of her afghans. She had married John W. Nichols and Horace E. Boynton Sr and was predeceased by them. She was also predeceased by stepchildren Clara and Horace and by her brother Albert W. Page Jr. and sisters Evelyn Magoon and Charlotte Mack. Rebecca was survived by her last husband Henry MacDonald of New Hampton and by her children Wayne, Robert, Barbara, Ruth, Vera, Nancy, Priscilla and Rebecca J. and by 37 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Her funeral was held at the Ashland Baptist Church. At 82 Ada said she is grateful for her doctors that she has made or is in the process of making each one of them their own afghan. "Dr. Glenn Fusoni was just married out of college. I was the eighth or tenth person he operated on for aneurysm. It was a good thing because mine was just about ready to break," she said. The afghan she is making for Dr. Christopher Weinnman is going to be burgundy, dark green and off white. Dr. Samuel Aldrich who in 2000 unclogged arteries in her neck will also be getting an afghan. Dr. Scott, said Ada, did surgery on her eyes two years ago to give her 20/20 vision which has enabled her continue making afghans. Looking comfortable in her recliner she worked on an afghan for the sister-in-law of one of her grandsons who graduated from high school. Ada raised six daughters, two sons, a step-daughter and step-son, all of whom have their own afghan as do their spouses, children and their children's children. For 43 years Ada said she worked in the Ashland Woolen Mill as a spinner. After retiring 18 years ago began making afghans about once a week to occupy her time. In her lifetime Ada said she has made 800 afghans.
