Description	:	Mrs. Rebecca Clegg Martin passed away in Blue Hill, Nebraska, at the home of T.L. Trowbridge after an illness of several years. She had been unable to leave her bed for many months, but under the kind administrations of her children, she had endured her ailment. She was born March 28, 1819, in Marshall County, West Virginia, and was married in 1842 to Jotham Martin, and lived in West Virginia until 1861, when they moved to Illinois. The family came to Nebraska in 1884 and settled at Blue Hill and her residence has been continuous there since.... She was born March 28, 1819, in Marshall County, West Virginia, and was married in 1842 to Jotham Martin, and lived in West Virginia until 1861, when they moved to Illinois. The family came to Nebraska in 1884 and settled at Blue Hill and her residence has been continuous there since. She was the mother of thirteen children, five of which have gone before her, and the ones that survive her are Presley, of this city, Euclid of Omaha, Nebraska, Mary Sansom of Wilcox, Nebraska, Milton, Joshua, George, Kinsey, Martin, and Esther Trowbridge of Blue Hill, Nebraska, besides forty-three grandchildren living and twenty-five great grandchildren, and one half-sister, Miss Ruth Clegg of Miltonvale, Kansas. All the children attended the funeral except Presley. The couple lived to an extreme old age. Mr. Martin died April 20, 1907, was in his eighty-ninth year, and the faithful wife who followed him was 89 years, 4 months and six days of age. Funeral services were held at the residence on Wednesday forenoon, and the remains were laid to rest in the Blue Hill cemetery.
