Description	:	Rebecca Hannah (Brady) Brooks was the daughter of Thomas and Drusilla(Hilton) Brady of Italy Cross, Lunenberg County, Nova Scotia, Canada. She arrived in Boston from Yarmouth, NS on October 6, 1901 at the age of 19, and is listed as a passenger on the "Prince Arthur", along with two other women, Josephine age 21 and Bessie, age 22. She worked as a domestic in Worcester, MA prior to her marriage to George Albert (Bacon) Brooks on Nov. 15, 1904 in Worcester. She arrived in Boston from Yarmouth, NS on October 6, 1901 at the age of 19, and is listed as a passenger on the "Prince Arthur", along with two other women, Josephine age 21 and Bessie, age 22. She worked as a domestic in Worcester, MA prior to her marriage to George Albert (Bacon) Brooks on Nov. 15, 1904 in Worcester. He was the son of George Albert Bacon and Ida Paige, but was raised using the surname of his stepfather, Freeman Willis Brooks. George and Rebecca had four sons: Warren b. 1906, Russell b. 1907, George N b. 1909, and Lester b. 1914, the first two born in Worcester, and the last two born in Boston. When Rebecca's husband George died in 1935, she went to work as a waitress at the old Oyster House in Boston for many years before retiring. She was an excellent seamstress, knitter and grandma to her many grandchildren. She made the best homemade bread and rolls. Suffering with heart failure in her last years, she moved in with her youngest son's family in Norwalk, CT where she passed away in 1965. She is buried with her husband George A. and son George N. Brooks.
