Description	:	Rebecca Robbins was born near Gladstone, Illinois, March 27, 1842. On her mother’s side she was a great granddaughter of Daniel Boone, the famous Kentucky pioneer. Her father died when she was young. Her sister Lucy died and left her orphan children to the tender care of Aunt Reba. The rearing of these children together with the tender care of her aged mother, became her life work. Read More	Rebecca Robbins was born near Gladstone, Illinois, March 27, 1842. On her mother’s side she was a great granddaughter of Daniel Boone, the famous Kentucky pioneer. Her father died when she was young. Her sister Lucy died and left her orphan children to the tender care of Aunt Reba. The rearing of these children together with the tender care of her aged mother, became her life work. After the death of her mother at the age of 83, Reba was married to William Morris at Gladstone, Illinois, October 20, 1909, since then making her home in Albion. She was always of a religious turn of mind and cannot remember the time she did not have strong faith in God. At the age of 15 she made profession of religion and united with the Presbyterian church. She always tried to be on the right side of every question and took great interest in all public reforms. On coming to Albion she united with the Baptist church. After moving here she was loyal to her new friends, but never forgot her old ones. She was a true friend and kind neighbor. As was said of Mary of old, “She hath done what she could”. Her husband died in 1919. Her last days were made happy by her niece, Mrs. Cora Boyle who was ever at her side, the children always were good to her and friends continually dropping in. After 3 years of helplessness, she passed away peacefully late Thursday afternoon. Funeral was from the Baptist church Saturday morning in charge of Rev. Nance, the sermon being delivered by D. J. Poynter. Interment was in Rose Hill. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – October 14, 1926)
