The following sketch of her life is given: Rebecca Zuver was born in Mercer county, Penn., in 1821. While young her parents moved to Wayne County, Ohio. At the age of 18 she married Jesse Adams, and removed with him to the then “Far West,” to pioneer in the woods of northern Indiana (Elkhart Co.) where she lived for over fifty years. In 1879 she came to Hastings, where she lost her husband in 1880. Since then she has lived most of the time with her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Camp, near Juniata. She was the mother of three daughters and four sons; one daughter, Hester and three sons Thomas James, Willis Adelbert and Charles Jesse Adams survive her. She was converted in early life, and united with the Methodist Episcopal church - a relation that was never severed. For many years she has been as a Pilgrim “seeking a better country - that is an heavenly.” Twice before, she has heard the rippling of the narrow stream that “Divides that Heavenly Land from ours.” Only waiting for the summons from the Father. “It is enough.” We think of her flight with the angels. To the beautiful City of Light. As through gates open wide to receive her; Not “Ajar” - as if all were not right. Our hearts, though bereft, cease their morning, We know she is safe with the blest. We hope, when the angel shall call us, To meet in that “Heavenly Rest”. Juniata Herald Dec. 27, 1893
