She was born Nov. 18, 1916, in Lafayette to William and Iva "Pete" Guy Binkley, who preceded her in death. In 1937, she married James E. Baxter, who died Sept. 11, 2007. Mrs. Baxter had worked at Kresge. She had also been an interior decorator at Town & Country Furniture from the time it opened until it closed, and then at Kruse Furniture & Hardware. In 1937, she married James E. Baxter, who died Sept. 11, 2007. Mrs. Baxter had worked at Kresge. She had also been an interior decorator at Town & Country Furniture from the time it opened until it closed, and then at Kruse Furniture & Hardware. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Elida. She was a 1934 graduate of Lafayette High School. She was a special mother and grandmother. Family meant everything to her. She was extremely gifted in arts, painting and calligraphy. She was truly ahead of her time in the arts. Survivors include a son, James (Linda) Baxter, of Elida; a daughter, Barbara (David) Lloyd, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Binkley; and a sister, Jean Kundert. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. The Rev. Ruth Solo will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association.
