Read More	CHANUTE TIMES, JUNE 16, 1913 R. T. Manley who drank laudanum Wednesday night, died at the home of his son, D. Manley, 1719 S. Edith Saturday afternoon about 3 o'clock. The funeral services were held from the home of his son yesterday at 1 o'clock. Burial was made in Elmwood. Manley was about 60 years old and had been a resident of the county for many years. For some time he had been subject to temporary attacks of insanity and it was during one of these spells that he drank the poison. This was his second attempt to take his own life. All efforts to save him were struggled against by himself. OBITUARY SAME DATE: Reese Thomas Manley was born December 28, 1857, and departed this life June 14, 1913 aged 54 years, 5 months and 14 days. Mr. Manly was married to Miss Dolly Loafman March 5., 1876 in Indiana. To this unoin were born 9 children 5 sons and four daughters. Of those four have gone before, two sons and 2 daughters, while five yet remain to follow after, and his companion. Mr. Manley was converted when a young man and became a member of the Free Baptist church, later he left Indiana and moved to moved to Missouri and later moved lo Linn county, Kansas where he joined the Missionary Baptist church and he was ordained elder of the latter church. Mr. Manley was always kind hearted and true. At a husband father and neighbor he was among the best. In his dealings he was honest and upright and practiced the golden rule, but for some months past his health was poor and he became dependent and thought death a welcome visitor. Funeral services were held at the home of his son, David Manle,y 1717 South Edith avenue at 1 p. m. yesterday. Interment at Elmwood cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. A. Johnson. Subject, Revelations 22:9. Father Manley leaves many relatives and friends to mourn his departure.
