Mrs Regina Reuthinger, age 74 years and one month, wife of Ferdinand Reuthinger, died last evening at her home in East Atchison of Bright's Disease, after a lingering illness covering a period of two years. She was cared for all of this time, alternately, by the loving hands of her children, who left their homes and came to do for and be with her to the end. Here has been a life of more than ordinary experience, and she was a woman of unusual force of character. The deceased was one of the very early settlers of Atchison, Kansas, coming with her husband and children from St. Louis in 1866 and have lived here ever since.She was twice married, her former husband was Henry Vosse, who may be still remembered by some of the old timers. He died in 1877, leaving a family of five children; Henry Vossee and Mrs. G.F. Metzger, of Quincy; G.A. Vosse of Iola; Mrs C.T. Burchard, of Falls City, Neb., and Mrs. H. F Wilson, of Wagoner, Oka. She was again married to Mr. Reuthinger, her surviving husband, in 1879, who had also been left with five motherless children as follows; Mrs. W. Allen and Mrs. E. Winkler, of East Atchison; F. Reuthinger, Jr., of St. Joseph; Mrs. W. Harvey, of Clevis, New Mexico, and Mrs. H. Haase, deceased. To the last union were born two children, Carl Reuthinger, of Wagoner, Okla, and Mrs. E. B Ellis, of Wauricka, Okla, making three distrinct families, to which she proved equal. She was always a kind, sympathetic and impartial mother, and a heart large enough to take them all in and discharge a mother's duty to the fullest extent. She was loyal to her friends, helpful in sickness and trouble whereever she found it., liberal to he peer, and always ready and willing, day or night, to lend a helping hand to those needing her. She was a member in good standing of the Evangelical church of Atchison, and though not an ardent church worker, was always interested inits growth and welfare. All of her childen are here. The interment will be in the family lot in Mount Vernon. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Atchison Dailey Globe Dec 08, 1911 Fri p.4. The funeral of Mrs. Ferdinand Reuthinger, who died in East Atchison Wednesday evening, will be held from the German Evangelical Church, corner of Ninth and Sante Fe Streets, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at Mt Vernon cemetery.
