June 27, 1918 ******** Sioux county Index; December 21, 1961 Funeral services were held Thursday, December 14, at the First Reformed Church at Boyden, Iowa, for Mr. Reinder Kamminga, who passed away Monday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m. at his home, following a heart attack and complications, at the age of 87 years, four months and 12 days. Burial was at the Boyden cemetery. Mr. Kamrninga, son of Chris and Jacoba Kamminga, was born August 20, 1874, in The Netherlands. When a young man of 18 years he came to America with his parents, settling in the Boyden vicinity. On March 16 he was married to Jane Rensink, near Matlock and they farmed near Matlock and Boyden until 1929, when they retired and moved to the present home. To this union were born: one son Henry; two daughters, Coba (Mrs. Pete L. Moret) and Johanna (Mrs. Amos Roetman) both of Boyden. He leaves to mourn,; his wife, the children, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grand children besides a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter on July 3, 1925. Mr. Kamminga was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church, and served as Elder and as a Sunday School teacher in the church.
