Dougherty, assisted by Reverend H. G. Patterson. The interment was at Sharon cemetery, the bearers being L. M. Edgar, A. M. Kilpatrick, Paul Baird, Wilford McDonald, Talmadge Mehaffy and Tom Claus. James Renwick Kennedy, youngest son of James and Martha Kennedy, was born May 19th, 1880. On October 20, 1908, ho was united in marriage to Miss Ola Martin, and to this union were born three sons: Howard at home, Russell who is serving with the armed forces, and Dwight, who passed away July 28, 1929. The wife and mother died September 23, 1922. On September 25, 1941, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Hensleigh, who, with the two sons, survive him. With them, there remain to mourn his death one brother, Robert Kennedy of Yarmouth, and four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hays of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Mamie McElhinney and Mrs. Merrill Baird of Morning Sun, and Mrs. W. W. Caldwell of Columbus Junction; also a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was a life long member of the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian church, and a consistent Christian, faithfully attending upon the ordinances of God's house. Though quiet and unassuming, he possessed a cheerful disposition and will be greatly missed by the entire community.
