Both physisians decided that an operation was unavoidable and Dr. Bud Van Sweringen, of Fort Wayne, was called. He came here Friday night and the operation was performed that night at 11 o'clock. When drs. Schuman and Souder consulted on the condition of the young man Friday afternoon septic perltonitis had set in and his condition then was very alarming. Reuben Loe was born in Columbia township, Whitley county, March 9, 1895, and at his death was aged 22 years, 2 months and 17 days. He moved with his parents to Denver, Ind., when three years of age and later moved to Peru where he spent eleven years of his life, returning to Whitley county in 1913. after residing in this city for some months the Loe family moved onto the Peabody farm in Columbia township where they have since resided. The deceased is survived by his parents, two brothers, William and Melvin, of Peru, and two sisters, Mrs. Al Mosher, of Columbia township and Lillie at home. The deceased was single and his death coming as it did just when he had attained man's estate is extremely sad, and the parents and brothers and sisters have the sympathy of the public in the loss of their son and brother.
