Description	:	The Onaga Herald June 1, 1939 Reuben Kelly was born in West Virginia on October 3, 1850, and died May 27, 1939 at Topeka, Kansas. He was married to Valierie Reboul on January 6, 1873. To this union was born five children. There remains to mourn his departure, three children, as follows: Charles, of Onaga; William, of Topeka, and Mrs. Pearl Noble, of Osage City. Also twelve grandchildren survive. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly were married over 50 years. His has been the life of the pioneer. He came to the west when it was new and required brave spirits to face its hardships.... Uncomplaining and patient, he faced the frontier, and with many others helped to turn the desert into the pleasant land we know today. Yet he was not hardened by these things but sought to make them the means to a finer life. He kept his faith in God and in all things sought to build a quality of character that would be an example to all who should know him. His last years have been frail ones, yet he has kept his courage and bourne patiently the lot that seemed his to bear. Funeral services were conducted by Dr. Thos. C. Hinkle, at Neuchatel, on Monday afternoon. Burial was in the Neuchatel cemetery.
