Description	:	Rev. Billy Thurman Baker, 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 22, 1932 in Horry County, a son of the late Thurman Albert and Eva Johnson Baker. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four siblings, Jimmy Baker, Robert Baker, Johnny Baker and Lillie Mae Baker. Rev. Baker was a true man of God who preached for forty-five years. Billy Thurman Baker, 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 22, 1932 in Horry County, a son of the late Thurman Albert and Eva Johnson Baker. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four siblings, Jimmy Baker, Robert Baker, Johnny Baker and Lillie Mae Baker. Rev. Baker was a true man of God who preached for forty-five years. Twenty-one of those years he preached at White Savannah FWB Church, also preaching at St. John, Free Welcome, Damascus, Mt. Trolley, Cornerstone FWB Churches and many other churches in different states. His greatest desire was winning souls as he preached the word of God. Rev. Baker served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was also a loving husband, father and PaPa, who will be greatly missed by all. Rev. Baker is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Marie Skipper Baker; three daughters, Betty B. Harrell (Hal) of Conway, Billie Jean Bartlett (Mike) of Lexington, NC and Nancy Israel (Carl) of Nichols; five siblings, Joe Baker (Carolyn) of Conway, LeRoy Baker (Leona) of Burlington, NC, Mary James (Junior) of Conway, Eva Mae Williamson (Dawson) of Aynor and Mary Wassel Hucks of Conway, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Services Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5pm until 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 at White Savannah FWB Church with Rev. Steve Hyman, Rev. Ray Cribb and Rev. Rick Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery officiated by Rev. Buddy Seay. Please sign a guestbook at watsonfuneralservices.com.
