Description	:	The Rev. Donald Clifford Wright, 75, of Creston died Sept. 28, 2006, at Greater Regional Medical Center. Services were at the First Baptist Church in Creston. Pastor Mark Pearson will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Douds. Donald Wright, son of Mildred Lucille (King) and Willard Clayton Wright, was born Dec. 3, 1930, near Woodburn. He was educated in rural elementary schools in Clarke County. He graduated from Woodburn High School in 1949 and Omaha Bible Institute in 1952. He was ordained in Branson, Mo., in 1954. On June 23, 1951, Don married Winifred Van Boening in Venango, Neb. They pastored at churches in Arkansas, Iowa and Nebraska. He also did youth work as a camp director, starting Awana ministries in five churches throughout his ministry. He was a builder and was involved in the original building of Freedom Bible Camp at Chariton and later was camp director. In 1968, Don was involved in a mission building trip to Haiti. In 1985, missionary building became his full-time ministry, along with pulpit supply in various churches. Building projects, included Dog Lake Canada Conference Center, New Tribes Mission, Calvary Bible College, Rio Grande Bible Institute and numerous other projects. Survivors include his wife, Winnie Wright of Creston; four daughters, Sharie (husband Jerry) Leazer of Fairfield, Joy (husband Jerry) Dage of Sergeant Bluff, Betsy Wright of Creston and Becky (husband Scott) England of Jackson, Mich.; four brothers, Jim (wife Eleanor) Wright of Central City, Neb., Richard (wife Donna) Wright of St. Charles, Minn., and Virgil (wife Linda) Wright and Paul (wife Garnett) Wright, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Rosalee McKimpson of Branson, Mo., Dorothy Nelson of Canyon City, Colo., Marjorie Cording of Clinton, Mont., and Bonnie Freeze of Clark, S.D.; eight grandchildren, Angela, Stephanie, Randy, Jason, Patty, Jenny, Joey and Katie; and three great-grandchildren, Devin, Isabelle and Grace. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, mother- and father-in-law, four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
