Description	:	"Rev. Edward ROOT, was the son of Anson and Sally (Brooks) ROOT, and was born in Litchfield Co. Conn Feb. 4, 1822. Twenty years later, he was married to Lucy S. Palmer (15 May 1842, Ohio). H. D. Root, M.D., one of their six children now living, has served in the Nebraska Legislature. Brother Root received license from the Williamsfield church [Freewill Baptist] of the Ashtabula Quarterly Meeting (Q.M.) Ohio, in 1839, and two years later, was ordained by the Huron Q.M.
