Description	:	Rev. Emanuel Thimgan was born at Murdock, Nebraska, Aug. 9, 1874, and died near Sutton, Feb. 23, 1925. He was married to Miss Amelia Bauer at Sutton, Neb., March 15, 1900. To them were born three children, two sons and one daughter. In the spring of 1906 they bought a farm 7 miles south east of Sutton, which has since been their home. He often spoke of its comforts, with his faithful wife and children, who cared... Read More	Rev. Emanuel Thimgan was born at Murdock, Nebraska, Aug. 9, 1874, and died near Sutton, Feb. 23, 1925. He was married to Miss Amelia Bauer at Sutton, Neb., March 15, 1900. To them were born three children, two sons and one daughter. In the spring of 1906 they bought a farm 7 miles south east of Sutton, which has since been their home. Here they worked hard to build a modern home, which was a great comfort to Brother Thimgan during his long period of sickness. He often spoke of its comforts, with his faithful wife and children, who cared for him so well. He was converted to the Lord when but a boy, but wandered away from the narrow away and did not reurn to his Saviour until about fifteen years ago; when he renewed his covenant and at first united with the Evangelical Church but afterwards became a member of the United Brethren church. Soon after his return to God, he felt a call to the Ministry and was not disobedient to the Heavenly Call. He was granted quarterly conference license in 1917, Rev. J. D. Lamb being Presiding Elder. He was admitted to the Annual Conference, Oct. 17, 1919, when Dr. O. G. Alwood was Bishop, and was elected to the Itineracy, Oct. 16, 1920. He served several fields, and was a good, faithful pastor, his people always liked him. He always was a liberal and cheerful giver of his means to the various interests of the church. In all his afflictions he was very patient and was always found rejoicing in the Lord. He was not afraid to die. He fell asleep peacefully, without a struggle. Funeral services were held from the Sutton Evangelical church, Feb. 25, conducted by his pastor, who was one of his closest friends, assisted by the Sutton Evangelical pastor who read the Scripture lesson, a part of John 14, and offered prayer. He also spoke briefly in the German language, and the Evangelical pastor from Clay Center, Neb., who read the Obituary and spoke on his life. He and Bro. Thimgan were boys together. He leaves to mourn their loss, his faithful, devoted wife, two sons, one daughter, six brothers, two half-brothers, four sisters, two half-sisters and many other relatives and a host of friends. Burial in Sutton cemetery. Perry E. Henry, Pastor.
