Description	:	Rites Held For Dr. Nye, 79, Born At Creighton Funeral services for Enoch Nye were held at Hengstler's Chapel and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Jesse Withee of Merna, a nephew of the deceased, officiated at the rites here, assisted by the Rev. David Gustafson, pastor of the local Methodist Church. Music was furnished by Marjorie, Phyllis, Byron and Lowell Myers, great nieces and nephews of Dr. Nye. He married Glenn Dale Fletcher at Creighton, Feb. 7, 1904. She died at Lincoln in 1936. He married Mrs. Vivian Wendell at Bayard, Feb. 6, 1937. Dr. Nye served Methodist pastorates in Venus, Niobrara, Lynch, O"Neill, Spencer, Lincoln, Chambers and Crawford Valley and Federated churches in Bennett, Jewell, Ia. and Brimfield, Ill., prior to going to Idaho. He was minister of the Fruitland, Idaho church until his retirement in 1957, when he moved to Caldwell to make his home. Surviving are his widow; four sons, the Rev. Dr. Harold N. Nye of the Caldwell First Methodist Church, Rev. Laurence E. Nye of the First Methodist Church at Portland, Ore., the Rev. Roland E. Nye of the Congregational Church at New Haven, Conn. and The Rev. Kenneth E. Nye of the Congregational Church at Glenview, Ill; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Henderson of Lincoln; a stepson, Donald E. Waskowiak of Stockton, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Richard Iverson of Jewell, Ia. and Mrs. Merrill Barlow of Des Moines, Ia.; three sisters, Mrs. James Withee and Mrs. Geroge Fletcher of Orchard and Mrs. Roy Shull of O'Neill; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Among those from out of town at the services here were his widow and four sons; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Henderson, Dwain and Jean of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Iverson of Jewell, Ia; a sister of Mrs. Nye and husband from Valley; Rev and Mrs. J.A. Withee of Merna; Dr. Nye's three sisters and their husbands; Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Fletcher and Miss Lila Fletcher of Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs. James Withee of Osmond and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Withee of Plainview.
