Description	:	William Henry Nye, son of Jonas Nye, was born in Napoleon, Henry County, Ohio on March 23, 1856 and died at him home in Orchard, Nebraska on December 12, 1932 at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 19 days. When he was a small boy, he came to Stanton, County, Nebraska with his parents, making the trip by oxen team and located on a homestead, where he resided for several years. Read More	William Henry Nye, son of Jonas Nye, was born in Napoleon, Henry County, Ohio on March 23, 1856 and died at him home in Orchard, Nebraska on December 12, 1932 at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 19 days. When he was a small boy, he came to Stanton, County, Nebraska with his parents, making the trip by oxen team and located on a homestead, where he resided for several years. Dec. 25, 1878 Mr. Nye was united in marriage to Miss Mary Wetzel of West Point, Nebraska. They lived in Burton County for four years, then, in Dakota County, where they lived for one year. In January of 1883 Mr. Nye and family moved to a homestead in Knox County northwest of Creighton. This was their home until about seventeen years ago, when they moved to their present home in Orchard. For a few years after moving to Orchard, he operated a cream station for the Fairmont Creamery Company, but the last few years, the elderly couple has lived on retirement. When but a young man, Mr. Nye began preaching the gospel, being a follower of the United Brethern faith. Besides doing his farm work, he traveled through much of Knox County as a circuit rider, conduction church services, ministering to the sick and dying and holding funeral services. The territory, around Walnut in Knox county, has been visited many times by this faithful servant of the Lord. Mr. Nye leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, one son, Enoch of Lincoln, five daughters, Mrs. Laura McNabb, Mrs. Gertie Withee and Mrs. Winnie Fletcher of Orchard, Mrs. Lulu Clough and Mrs. Pearle Fricke of Winnetoon, twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One son, Jesse, died in infancy. Funeral services were held at the United Brethern church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the local pastor, Rev. Paul H. Riggs.
