Description	:	In 1841, Bishop Henry Stemen and his hardy band of pioneers emigrated from Fairfield County, Ohio, and founded the Salem Mennonite settlement in Sugar Creek Township of Allen County, Ohio. Bishop Stemen originally came from Pennsylvania and settled near the present town of Bremen, Ohio (Fairfield County) in 1803 and became one of the pioneer Mennonite Bishops of the State.	In 1841, Bishop Henry Stemen and his hardy band of pioneers emigrated from Fairfield County, Ohio, and founded the Salem Mennonite settlement in Sugar Creek Township of Allen County, Ohio.
