Read More	Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” May 31, 1962: Rev. John Walter Hunt, 89, of 521 Ellis, died Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill for a week. He was born on a farm south of Ottumwa on Feb. 19, 1873, the son of Noah [sic-should be Enoch] and Parthena Redden Hunt. He lived on a farm during his early life and later attended school in Chicago and Cleveland, Ohio. He was ordained an elder in the Nazarene Church in 1916. He served as a minister for several years and returned to farming in later life. He was married March 11, 1894, in Wapello County to Margaret Ann Houk, who survives. He was the last of a family of seven children. He is also survived by three sons, Ray of Boise, Idaho, Wesley of Hawthorne, Calif., and Archie of Orange, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Zelda Newey of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Mary Lineberry of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Lois Overturf of Ottumwa Route 2, and Miss Rachel Hunt at home; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. S.M. Abel, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. The casket will remain at the Johnson Funeral Chapel until 11 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church and closed at the beginning of the service.
