Read More	Source: The Greenville News: 01-17-2002 The Rev. Otis Walter Brady Jr., 74, of 219 Mountain View Rd., died Jan. 15, 2002, at his residence. A native of Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Lizzie Edwards and Otis Walter Brady Sr. He was a Southern Baptist Missionary, an Air Force Veteran, a member of Landrum First Baptist Church and a graduate of Furman University and Southeastern Seminary. In 1956 he entered the mission field in the Bahamas. He served in Guyana from 1961-1975, Mexico from 1976-1977, Belize from 1977-1994 and as a church planting consultant for the Carribean for three years. He served as pastor for First Baptist Church, Ellerbe, N.C., and Calvary Baptist, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. He served interim pastorates in Polk County N.C. at Faith Baptist, Pacolet Baptist and Sandy Springs Baptist. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Martha Yates Brady; two sons, John Thomas Brady of London and David Joe Brady of Siloam, N.C.; one daughter, Martha Lynn Brady Alexander, of Spartanburg; one brother, Edward Brady, of Landrum; and one sister, Corine Bailey, of Spartanburg; and five grandchildren, Leigh Alexander, John Brady II, Mark Alexander, Caraleigh Brady and Meriem Brady. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Landrum First Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Jerry Long, Mike McGee and Ron Wilson. Burial will be at Landrum Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday Jan. 18, at the Petty Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of lowers memorials may be made to International Missions Board (Gutenburg Project), P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230-0767.
