Description	:	CHESAPEAKE, VA Rev. Philip Edwin Miller, 90, made the journey home to be with his Savior Saturday, April 2, 2011. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and pastor to his church family at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church. Rev. Miller was born October 29, 1920 in Monroe, Washington to the late Francis B. Miller and Madgalena Wagler Miller. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and pastor to his church family at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church. Rev. Miller was born October 29, 1920 in Monroe, Washington to the late Francis B. Miller and Madgalena Wagler Miller. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Verna Mae Tice Miller, three brothers and five sisters. Philip was called into the ministry in 1954, when he became a pastor in Knoxville, TN. In 1959 he became the pastor of Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, Chesapeake. Philip was a cabinet maker for nearly 50 years. He was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity until 2003. He is survived by daughters, Glenda Mosemann and husband Chris of Newport News; Donna Brubaker and husband Arnie of Sweet Home, Oregon, Fern Vazquez, Judi Leader and husband Jim and Mim Bailey and husband Bob, all of Chesapeake; thirteen grandchildren, Pam and husband Paul, Tonia and husband Eric, Phil, Dawn and husband Donnie, Jeff, Gloria and husband Shane, Shawn and wife Cheryl, Teresa, Chad and wife Emily, Melissa and husband Hadi, Kristen and husband Bobby, Rob, Amy and husband Jimmy; ten great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cameron , Rachel, Brooke, Brianna, Kayla, Naomi, Graecyn, Daniel, Truitt; a brother, Francis B. Miller, Jr.; a sister, Ruth Leatherman. The funeral service was conducted Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, 2041 Mt. Pleasant Road, Chesapeake. Rev. Sam Scaggs officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
