Pastor England passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a Naval Veteran, faithful Missionary Pastor and devoted husband of 57 years to Elena C. England. A loving father, brother, and grandfather survived by his four children, Leslie England of Longview, Washington, Marvin England of Houston, Texas, Erech England of Hilo, Hawaii and Elena (England) Hunt of Mililani, Hawaii; his older brother, Richard England; his loving sister, Sharon Crist; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was born June 10th, 1934 in Lancaster, Ohio. He joined the Navy at age 17 and was stationed at Barbers Point, Oahu, Hawaii. There he met a missionary Pastor Foster Tresise, who confronted him with his need for a personal relationship with God and he accepted Christ January 31, 1954. This moment in time changed his life from a carousing Navy man to a loving man of God who always put others above his own desires or needs. Ron England answered God's call to preach the Gospel of Christ and became a longtime Fundamenta Independent Baptist Pastor from 1962 to 2010. He had a tremendous passion for the souls of all men. All who really knew him considered him a man after God's own heart, a true friend of many and a friend of God. His great sense of humor and a love for practical jokes always made life around him exciting, especially in dire circumstances. His favorite Bible passage was Romans 12:1-2, '1 beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. In the face of opposition he would quote, "If the Lord be for us, who can be against us"? He led an exemplary life which was led by perseverrance and a desire to never give up. He was a wonderful father and friend who touched the lives and hearts of many people through his ministry for the Lord. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, and we look forward to the day when we will be reunited once again in the Kingdom of God. Rest in peace safely in the arms of Jesus. We love you. Friends and family are in invited to Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster, Ohio for viewing Friday, October 15; 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., October 16; Saturday 9 to 9:30 a.m. where a celebration of home going service will be held, Saturday, October 16, 9;30 a.m. with Pastors, Matthew Nihiser, Vern Kirby, Max Tucker and John LeVeck will officiate. Interment to follow at Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio where the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will conduct Military Rites. In lieu of floral arrangments, cards and gifts may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, 1910 Marietta Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, in memorian of Ronald England. Arrangment are being handle by the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, Lancaster, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Pansy T. (Hedges) and Daniel Schwalbach; brother, Kenneth R. "Kenny" England; grandparents, James Crawford and Margaret (Bainter) Gordon; great-grandparents, Joseoph Flamon and Esther (Chenoweth) Gordon and Daniel and Rachel (Bradford) Bainter.
