Bishop, Sr, 89, of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. The son of Louie and Sarah Yates Bishop, he was born July 23, 1925 in Russellville. He married Charlene Miller Bishop, on August 30, 2003 at First Assembly of God in Russellville. He was a Seaman First Class in the United States Navy during World War II. During Terrell’s service he was a Deck Hand on the USS Deuel APA 160, beach team leader in Iwo Jima with the 6th USMC (First Wave) on 19-FEB-1945 and Shore Party Team Leader in Okinawa, where they transported many casualties. Terrell was a Golden Gloves Boxer, Arkansas State Trooper, Pope County Sheriff, Carpenter Contractor, worked for the state of Arkansas Department of Weights and Measures for over 20 years and Ministered for 30 years in The Church of God in Arkansas. Terrell was a member of Russellville First Assembly of God, Arkansas Sheriff’s Association, Arkansas State Police Association, USS Deuel APA 160 Association, American Legion Post 20 and Life member of the VFW. Terrell loved to memorize God’s Word, whittle and was gifted musically, where he enjoyed playing the harmonica, dulcimer and the Jews harp. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, MayBeth Tippin Bishop; nine brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Bishop of Russellville; two sons, Dr. Terrell Bishop, Jr. (Carol Ann), Chaplain (Colonel) Brenson Bishop (Mary) of Louisville, KY; one daughter, Naomi Plumley (Rod) of Meridian, ID; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with one on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at First Assembly of God Church. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Pottsville, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
