He attended Meade County grade schools 3 years and completed his education at St. Martin Academy, Sturgis. He also attended Nazareth Hall Preparatory Seminary and St. Paul Seminary, both St. Paul MN. He was ordained as a priest of the diocese of Rapid City 4 Jun 1949 {several paragraphs ref his churches}. He was a member of Society of Black Hills Pioneers. He was preceded in death by a sister: Kathleen Baxter and his parents; he is survived by a niece: Shirleen Baxter, Los Angeles CA and several cousins in the Black Hills area including: Judy Parsons, Mike Gorman, Rick Gorman and Bob Regan, all Sturgis. Burial was at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
