Dalton, daughter of Richmond and Nancy Kivett, was born August 21, 1862, near Knoxville, Tenn., and passed away at her home in Liberty, Nebraska, December 6, 1951, at the age of 89 years, three months and 16 days. When a small girl she came with her parents to Nebraska where they lived- a family of twelve children, six boys and six girls- in a one-room log house on their farm three miles south of Liberty. She was united in marriage January 27, 1885, to Sylvester L. Dalton. They made their home on their farm southeast of Liberty until 1907 when they moved to Western Nebraska and later to Stoneham, Colorado. Five children were born to this union, Mrs. Cora Drake, Mrs. Hazel Smith and Guy Dalton preceded their mother in death. Her husband passed away January 23, 1936 while they were living in Colorado. In 1938, Mrs. Dalton returned to Liberty and made her home with her brothers, Milton and Alvis, on the old family farm. Later she moved to her own farm, remaining for several years before locating in Liberty. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Rees, Summerfield, Kansas; son Harry K. Dalton, Phillipsburg, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; brother, Sherman Kivett, Bartly, Neb.; and many friends. Funeral services were held December 9 at the Liberty Congregational church, Rev. Ross McCown officiating. Burial in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Roberts, Kenneth Maguire, Floyd Drake, Eli Pyle, Clyde Ellison, Francis Fentiman.
