Description	:	Richard Allen Stewart, age 76 of Crofton, Nebraska, the youngest son of Robert and Hilda (Olson) Stewart, was born on April 24, 1937 in the rural Lindy area and died peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Friday, May 10, 2013. Pallbearers will be Mike Stewart, Kelly Stewart, Ed Sage, Nick Fiscus, Tom Burder, Ken Mueller, Bryon Nielsen and Mike Schurman. He grew up on the Two Bar Ranch 12 miles northwest of Crofton and attended Herrick and Weigand Country Schools. After serving in the U.S. Army, Richard returned home to the farm in 1955. He met the love of his life at a Christmas program at the West Blyville Country School. Richard and Eileen Walter were married on June 1, 1960 at Yankton, SD. Through the years Richard and Eileen expanded the Two Bar Ranch where they raised cattle, hogs, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, barley and oats. In 1993 his son, Rick, returned home to the ranch to help run the operation. Richard enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends. The "Eagles Nest" next to the Lewis and Clark Lake was a special place to hang out on weekends. He also enjoyed hitching up his horse, Buck, to the buckboard wagon and taking the family and friends for a ride. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Crofton, the Elks Lodge #94 in Yankton and the Crofton American Legion Post 128. Richard also served on the Herrick Township Board for over 50 years. Richard is survived by his wife, Eileen of Crofton; a daughter, Joan Allvin of Crofton; a son, Rick Stewart and his wife Susan of Crofton; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Allvin of Heber City, Utah; Travis Allvin of Crofton; Katelyn and Thomas Stewart of Crofton; a sister, Lucille Engebretson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Eloise Stewart of Yankton and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and their husbands, Lola and Ray Smith and Evelyn and Elmer Zimmerman, a brother, Vern Stewart, a brother-in-law, Russ Engebretson and parents-in-law, Frank and Elvina Walter.
