Carey, 63, of 72 West Hampshire Street, died this morning in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, where he was admitted Saturday evening. Mr. Carey was admitted to the hospital after suffering a heart attack while at work in the Piedmont State Liquor Commission store. Born in Lonaconing, a son of the late James A. and Mary (Cain) Carey, he had resided in the Tri-Towns most of his life. ... Mr. Carey was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, the Holy Name Society of the parish and Piedmont Council 685, Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Stella (Fanto) Carey; a brother, John Carey, Bishop, California and a sister, Mrs. Lloyd Welsh, Westernport. Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Church by Rev. George J. Pugh, assistant pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery."
