Description	:	RICHARD BOEKE Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Boeke, was born at Hope, Mo., on May 8, 1864. He grew to boyhood there, and attended the country school and the Sunday school of the German Pres. church at Hope. In the year of 1893, March 8, the Boeke's family moved to Hickman, Nebr. He grew to boyhood there, and attended the country school and the Sunday school of the German Pres. church at Hope. In the year of 1893, March 8, the Boeke's family moved to Hickman, Nebr. They lived in town until the Fall of that year when they moved on a farm 2 mi. west of Hickman. On May 28, 1895, Richard married Miss Amelia Kate Suiker. The young couple moved on a farm a mile north of Hickman. They lived there for about 5 years and then moved on their own farm north-west of Hickman. The couple lived there 35 years, and 6 years ago moved to Hickman. For 5 years they lived together and last year were obliged to give up their home on account of illness. Mrs. Boeke was taken to Lincoln hospital, and Mr. Boeke to a Nurses home, where he passed away last Monday morning, February 3, 1941. Mr. Boeke was an active member of the Hickman Presbyterian Church. He always supported the church through his prayers and offerings and his faithful attendance. He was very devoted to his Lord and the Church. He was a good neighbor; a kind friend, and a devoted father. His first concern was always for others and never for himself. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two daughters, Miss Amelia Boeke, and Mrs. Evelyn Kunz of Beloit, Wis.; also 7 brothers; Fred of Wessington, S.D.; William of Lincoln, Louis of Malua, Minn., John of Claycenter, Kas., Edward of Manchester, Ia., Chas. of Brandt, S.D., Henry, Lincoln. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 5, at the Hickman Presbyterian church, and the body was interred at the Hickman cemetery. A mixed quartette sang "Nearer My God to Thee," "Lead Kindly Light," "Jesus Saviour, Pilot Me" The pastor, the Rev. J. H. Thaden, conducted the services. [sic]
