Son of Wilson Abraham Larimer and Catherine Rebecca Weaver OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, September 15, 1977 LARIMER Richard Carl Larimer, son of Wilson A. and Catherine R. Larimer, was born Nov. 9, 1894, in Cedar Township, Ia., and passed away Aug. 8, 1977, in the Convalescent Hospital, Shafter, Calif. Very early in life, Dick, as he was known to his many friends, became a Christian and joined the Bethel United Brethren Church, remaining active in that church as long as he was a resident of the community. On June 24, 1914, he was united in marriage to Josephine O'Neill and they made their home on a farm not far from Bethel for the next 45 years. A daughter, Catherine, came to bless and gladden their home. Around 1960 Richard retired from farming and he and Josephine moved to Tucson, Ariz., where they made their home until 1974 when they moved to California to be closer to their daughter. While in Tucson, they joined the First Church of the Nazarene, later transferring their membership to the First Nazarene Church in Shafter. Funeral services were held at the Agee Funeral Chapel in Shafter on Wednesday, Aug. 10, with the Rev. J. Paul Alexander officiating. The Fielding Funeral Home was in charge of the graveside services and interment, which were at the Bethel Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 12, with Rev. Rohlmeier, pastor of the Chariton Nazarene Church officiating. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his widow, Josephine; daughter, Catherine; son-in-law, Dr. Thomas White; granddaughters, Marilda White of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Sandra White Flanary and her husband, Glen, of Bakersfield, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. He was a faithful Christian and loved his Lord and was ready to retire to his Heavenly Home. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
