Description	:	R. C. Fredrickson, son of Fred and Nellie (Lundberg) Fredrickson, was born April 28, 1920, at Boxholm, Iowa. He died May 20, 2000, at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. Dick lived most of his life in the Paton area and graduated from Paton High School in 1937. With the onset of WWII, Dick enlisted in the United States Navy on July 7, 1942. He died May 20, 2000, at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. Dick lived most of his life in the Paton area and graduated from Paton High School in 1937. With the onset of WWII, Dick enlisted in the United States Navy on July 7, 1942. He received honorable discharge on Dec. 23, 1945. Both before and following his military service, he worked with Jesse Wilson and Charlie Stewart of Paton in a trucking and ready-mix cement business. On July 25, 1947, Dick was married to Kathleen "Kay" Marie Fillman at Christ Lutheran Church near Churdan. To this union were born five children. The couple made their home in Paton until 1950 when they moved to Dexter to begin farming. In 1953 they returned to Paton. They purchased a farm two miles west of Paton in 1955 where Dick farmed until his retirement in 1988. In 1956, at the urging of area residents, Dick allowed his name to be submitted as a write-in candidate for Greene County Board of Supervisors. That election was the beginning of his 32-year career, with many years as chairman. He retired from the board in December of 1988. Dick suffered a stroke in 1992, and he was left greatly incapacitated, making it necessary for him to spend his final years in Jefferson area nursing facilities. He had been a resident of Jefferson Health Care Center since 1997. Dick was a member of Hold Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville, Paton Business Club, American Legion, V.F.W., Lions Club, Paton Housing Development Board, Paton Community Room Board and Farm Bureau. Survivors include his children: Nina Noldon (Ross) of Gig Harbor, WA; Jack (Lisa) of Paton; Earl of Fort Dodge; Cindy Murillo (Carlos) of Goodyear, AZ, and Mark (Kathy) of King Park, NY; six grandchildren: Laura Kay and Cathy Lee Fredrickson, Travis Fredrickson, Carlos Ray and Kayla Murillo, and Corinne Anne Fredrickson; one sister, Phyllis McCubbin (Dale) of Lombard, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and six brothers: Adrian, Paul, Robert, Harold, Gene, and Donald. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, at Hold Trinity Lutheran Church in Farnhamville for Richard Clyde "Dick" Fredrickson, 80, of Jefferson, former longtime Paton area resident and former longtime Greene County Supervisor. Pastor Steven Benson officiated. Arkay King was soloist, with Marsha Subbert as accompanist. There was also congregational singing. Casket bearers were George Walker, Dick Wilson, Doug Tourte, James Doran, George Erickson, and David Fatka. Honorary casket bearers were Larry Tourte, Willis Adkins, Merle Eberle, Frank Tucker, Harvey Batcheller, Maxwell Nelson, Fred Fillman, Charlie Hegwood, and Dale McCubbin. Interment was in Paton Township Cemetery at Paton, with military rites conducted by the Paton American Legion Post. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
