Description	:	Funeral services were held at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home here at 1:30 P.M. Saturday for Richard (Dutch) Juffer, 55, an employee of the Sioux Center Farmers’ Co-op Creamery, who died at the Sioux Center Hospital Thursday morning a short time after suffering a heart attack while shoveling snow at the creamery. Services were conducted by the Reverend Clarence Vander Plate and the Reverend Marion Klaaen. Burial was made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, who died March 31, 1944, and his mother, who passed away March 23, 1950. Mr. Juffer was a life-long resident of Sioux Center. He was born here March 16, 1905, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Juffer. He was married to Gertrude Deiters here August 21, 1930. For the past 42 years he had been employed by the local creamery. Pallbearers were Jake Altena, Everett De Bondt, Dick Addink, Marinus Louwerse, Marvin Schutt, and Jack DeVos. -Obituary from The Sioux Center News (3/16/1961)
