Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Richard Ewald Rieks was born on Friday; February 10, 1939 in Buckeye; Hardin County, Iowa. He was the third of five sons born to Ewald and Marian (Cowell) Rieks. Dick received his education by attending Zearing Public School and rural schools near Alpha. Dick was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country for two years. After the service, he worked for Reece Truck Line in New Providence. He then became one of the owners of Radcliffe Truck Lines. In 1970, he was united in marriage to Audrey Nehring at Pastor Dewey Lamprecht residence. He worked for several others before he became an Owner-Operator again in 1981. He retired in 2000. Richard Ewald Rieks, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Eldora Nursing & Rehab Center in Eldora; Hardin County, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His wife: Audrey. His son: Tracey (Audrey) Rieks. His one step-son: Jeff (Kelli) Rieks, all of Hubbard, Iowa. His two step-daughters: Valerie (Richard) Mahoney of Winona, Minnesota and Pamela (Craig) Nida of Urbandale, Iowa. His eight grandchildren and his two great-grandsons. His three brothers: Robert of Story City, Iowa. Roger of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and David of Steamboat Rock, Iowa. Also many other relatives and a host friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his one brother: Daniel. May they rest in peace. May God bless his memory and give strength to those that mourn. Graveside services will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday; April 17, 2010 at the Hubbard Cemetery in Hubbard, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Veterans Hospital, 3600 30th Street Des Moines, IA 50310-5774. The Boeke Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
