Description	:	Richard Francis Thompson, son of Mose and Dicie Thompson, was born December 24, 1858, in Page County, Iowa, and passed away November 21, 1943, at his home at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 27 days. On May 23, 1878, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Farrell. To them five children were born, three of them living, Orie L. at home, Mrs Olive Dougherty and Mrs Edna Peterman of New Market. Read More	Richard Francis Thompson, son of Mose and Dicie Thompson, was born December 24, 1858, in Page County, Iowa, and passed away November 21, 1943, at his home at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 27 days. On May 23, 1878, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Farrell. To them five children were born, three of them living, Orie L. at home, Mrs Olive Dougherty and Mrs Edna Peterman of New Market. Mrs Thompson passed away April 4, 1943, cutting short by a few days, 65 years of married life. Mr Thompson, lived his entire life in Page and Taylor counties and was familiarly known by his friends at "Duge." Besides his children he is survived by three sisters; Mrs Bell McCowen, Mar Margaret Wilson and Mrs Jennie Palmer, all of Kansas City; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two children; Cora and Mrs Gertrude Enfield. Funeral service was conducted by Ellsworth L. Woods, pastor of the Clarinda Christian Church at two o'clock on Tuesday, November 23, 1943, at the Walker funeral home. Music was provided by Doris Forbes and Aletha Hutchings. The pall bearers were N.D. Carpenter, Dennis Peterman, Floyd Peterman, Dale Peterman, Dale Pershin, and Jennings Beery. Interment was in Memory cemetery.
