Description	:	RICHARD H. KROON was born on September 15, 1912 to Henry D. and Hattie (Van Roekel) Kroon in Sioux Center, Iowa. He received his education through the eighth grade in Sioux County rural schools. Richard married Anna De Groot on August 24, 1937 at Sioux Center. Following their marriage, Richard farmed near Sioux Center for Frank Van Der Wilt and also Andrew Beernink. He received his education through the eighth grade in Sioux County rural schools. Richard married Anna De Groot on August 24, 1937 at Sioux Center. Following their marriage, Richard farmed near Sioux Center for Frank Van Der Wilt and also Andrew Beernink. Later Rich and Anna moved into Sioux Center where he worked for Sioux Center Cooperative Produce, Niessink & Kempers Farm Service, S & W Implement, Kempers Farmer Service and Sioux Automation. Rich was a member of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. He had a talent for fixing clocks and repairing small appliances. Rich enjoyed gardening and had a knack for searching for well sites on rural properties. Richard also liked driving to deliver or receive vehicles and automotive parts for his nephews' dealership. Rich is survived by his wife for 66 years, Anna Kroon of Orange City; four children and their spouses: Henry L. & Marian Kroon of Sioux Center; Veryl G. & Barbara Kroon of Waukee, IA; Lyle E. Kroon of Sioux Falls, SD and Phylliss E. Kroon and friend, Dave Vander Wei of Orange City; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Rich is also survived his brother and sister-in-law, Rev. William and Marjorie Kroon of Hampton, IA; three sisters: Cornelia Kroon, Margaret Voortman, Clarene Kroon all of Sioux Center; sister and brother-in-law, Arlone and Wilbur Vos of Sioux Center along with several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Arvin John Kroon; his daughter-in-law, Kathlyn Kroon; his parents; two brothers: Cornelius and Gerrit Kroon; four sisters: Gertrude Punt, Delia Van De Berg, Berniece Baker and Marilyn Kroon.
