Richard Henry Jenkins, 85, died at 9:15 a.m. today at his home on Ottumwa route 5, after an illness of four months. The son of Richard and Bessie Jenkins, he was born in Wales, July 6, 1860, and came to this country when he was 20 years old. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by six children, Brant and Helen at home; Mrs. Walter R. McNulty, Mrs. C.L. Savage, both of Ottumwa; Charles D. Jenkins of Peoria, Ill.; and E.T. Jenkins of Albia; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Evan Jenkins of Nora Springs, Iowa; and William Jenkins of Ft. Dodge; a sister, Mrs. James Ritter of Charles City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara E. in 1942. The body was removed to the Community funeral parlors. Arrangements for the funeral are incomplete. The Rev. Harold Roberts, pastor of the First Christian church, will conduct the services and burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.
