Description	:	Richard Howarth Horne, only son of James F. and Edith Horne, was born on August 25, 1916, on the Horne farm near Exeter. He spent his entire life in this community, and lived on the same farm where he was born. He was united in marriage to Doris Hetherington October 12, 1940, and to this union three children were born. Mr. Horne was well known in this community as a successful farmer and stockman, having served as president of the Exeter Feeders and Breeders Association. He was proud of his family, big-hearted and jovial, and made... Read More	Richard Howarth Horne, only son of James F. and Edith Horne, was born on August 25, 1916, on the Horne farm near Exeter. He spent his entire life in this community, and lived on the same farm where he was born. He was united in marriage to Doris Hetherington October 12, 1940, and to this union three children were born. Mr. Horne was well known in this community as a successful farmer and stockman, having served as president of the Exeter Feeders and Breeders Association. He was proud of his family, big-hearted and jovial, and made friends wherever he went. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Exeter. Only a week before his death, he sought the advice of his physician and entered the Friend hospital on October 31. His condition grew worse, and he was taken to a Lincoln Hospital November 1. He passed away the same afternoon from a heart attack at the age of 45 years, 2 months and 6 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife Doris; three children, Frances Rasmussen of Lincoln, James R. and John C. both of Exeter; a son-in-law, Gary Rasmussen; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Horne and twin grandsons, Richard and Randall Rasmussen. He also leaves four sisters, Emily Barney of Friend, Ruth Range of Lytton, Ia., Dorothy Tubman of Everett, Washington, and Ester Hill of Downey, Cal., as well as a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 5, at the First Congregational Church in Exeter, with Rev. Robert J. Kasper of Geneva officiating. burial was in the Exeter Cemetery.
