Description	:	Richard J. "Rich" Hoth, of Waverly, Iowa, died peacefully at his home on Monday, December 3, 2012. Rich was born on December 15, 1955, in Arlington, Iowa the son of Victor J. and Rozilla "Rose" (Hall) Hoth. Rich was born with Cerebral Palsy, a disability that Rich battled his entire life. "Rich" Hoth, of Waverly, Iowa, died peacefully at his home on Monday, December 3, 2012. Rich was born on December 15, 1955, in Arlington, Iowa the son of Victor J. and Rozilla "Rose" (Hall) Hoth. Rich was born with Cerebral Palsy, a disability that Rich battled his entire life. He was baptized on April 11, 1956, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Ft. Dodge. In 1958, when Rich was 3 years old his family moved to Waverly, Iowa. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School through the 6th grade, and on May 2, 1971, he was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Rich then attended the Waverly-Shell Rock School System, graduating in 1974. On August 25, 1984, he was united in marriage to Linda L. Frizzell at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. The couple later divorced. Rich worked for Schultz Family Store for over 20 years, and then worked several odd jobs including, Sky Tech, Frantec, Wellness Center and Miller True Value until the late 1990's when ill health forced him to retire. Rich was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. In his spare time Rich was an avid car junkie – he would love working on cars and Rich could see a car going down the road or parked in someone's driveway and tell you the make, model and year. He loved going on fishing trips to his parent's cabin on the Mississippi, to Leach Lake in Walker, Minnesota, and Canada. Rich is survived by his companion and caretaker, Mary Evenson Wentler of Waverly (formerly of Minnesota); his mother, Rose Hoth of Little Rock, Arkansas; his son, Taylor Hoth of Waverly; a sister, Barbara (Timothy) Antoniou of Lexington, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Sheryl Hoth of Little Rock, Arkansas; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Rich was preceded in death by a son Michael in infancy; his father, Victor; and his brother, Mark. Private family graveside services will be held at Harlington Cemetery in Waverly, with Pastor Jon Hennings officiating. Rich's body has been cremated; there will be no public visitation or services. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Waverly office.
