Richard John Fontanini was born on May 22, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Joe and Virginia (Ellenwood) Fontanini. He graduated from Boone High School in 1971. Rick is survived by his wife, Marchelle; daughter Andrea (Ryan) Grabau and her children Sam, Sophie, and Will of Elmhurst, IL; son Anthony (Julie) Fontanini and his children Gina, Alyssa, and Joey of Ames; and son Nicolas (Marci) Fontanini and his children Luca, Audrey, and Miles of Boone; brothers Joe (Laurie) Fontanini and Dennis Ellenwood; sister-in-law Carol Fontanini; and many other in-laws, nieces, and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone with Rev. Randy Schon and Rev. James Bruch officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blank Children's Hospital, in memory of Richard Fontanini. Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone
