Virginia was a homemaker and also worked as a saleswoman for the former Holiday House Gift Shop in Boone. She enjoyed attending her growing sons' activities and sports events. Virginia Lois Fontanini was born in Corning, Iowa, on November 7, 1920, the daughter of Jack and Vernie (Abbey) Ellenwood. She graduated from Corning High School and on July 16, 1948, she married Joe G. Fontanini in Des Moines. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son Steve, granddaughter Theresa Ellenwood, and daughter-in-law Ingrid Fontanini. Virginia is survived by three sons, Dennis of Newland, North Carolina, Joe and wife Laurie of St. Charles, Missouri, and Rick and wife Marchelle of Boone; a daughter-in law Carol Fontanini of Mason, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
