Description	:	Richard Lawrence "Dick" Bose, of Stamford, peacefully departed this life August 6, 2009 in Stamford with his family at his side. He was born November 20, 1940 in Oxford, Nebraska, the oldest of three children born to C. A. "Bud" and Maxine (Guessford) Bose. Dick grew up having a love for livestock, 4-H, John Deere tractors, farming and most of all his family. He attended school in Oxford graduating from Oxford High School in 1958. Read More	Richard Lawrence "Dick" Bose, of Stamford, peacefully departed this life August 6, 2009 in Stamford with his family at his side. He was born November 20, 1940 in Oxford, Nebraska, the oldest of three children born to C. A. "Bud" and Maxine (Guessford) Bose. Dick grew up having a love for livestock, 4-H, John Deere tractors, farming and most of all his family. He attended school in Oxford graduating from Oxford High School in 1958. He attended college at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln before returning home to help run the family farm. On March 19, 1961 he was united in Marriage to Marjean "Jeannie" Marie Graham of Upland, Nebraska and to this union they were blessed with four children: Lawrence Andrew, Charles Graham, William Conrad, and Kimberly Marie. The family made their home on the farm northwest of Orleans, where Dick farmed and had a great love for breeding high quality black cattle and was also a seed dealer for many years. In 1994 they moved into Stamford. Richard was very active in the Masonic Lodge, the Orleans School Board, Nebraska Cattlemen's Association, he was a Harlan County Fair Board member for 30+ years, 4-H leader, Harlan County Supervisor, member of Mid-Nebraska Governing Board, Harlan County Hospital Board, Nebraska Jaycees, and currently was serving on the Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board. While serving on these various boards, he received many awards including: Mertorious Service Award, 4-H Alumni Award, Mid-Nebraska Individual Services' Advocate of the Year, State Farmer Degree and FFA Honorary Chapter Member. Richard was instrumental in getting a FFA Chapter started at the Southern Valley High School. He was also awarded the Silver and Bronze Keyman Award and Service Award from the Nebraska Jaycees, and the Outstanding Leadership award for county officials. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Jeannie of Stamford; his sons: Larry Bose and his special friend, Teresa Peden and her son, Shea of Orleans, Chuck Bose and his wife, Judy of Orleans, and Bill Bose of Orleans and his special friend, Julene Schoen of Lincoln; his daughter, Kim Epp and her husband, Jim of Henderson, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Rachelle Bose of Plano, Texas, Nicole, Andrew and Clayton Bose of Orleans and Paige Bose of Henderson; one sister, Kaye Charles and her husband, Jerry of Hermitage, Missouri; one brother, Conrad "Shorty" Bose of Dunning, Nebraska; sister-in-laws: Ardella Schwenke and her husband, Roger of Orleans, Elaine Deppe and her husband, Bill of Randall, Michigan, Judy Graham of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Beverlee Miller of Minden, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Marvin Graham and his wife, Jovine of Council Bluffs, Iowa; aunts: Margaret Reed of Alma, Wanda Bose and her husband, Fred of Santa Anna, California, Francis Chaplin of Murietta, California, Kathrine Keech and her husband, Dick of Long Beach, California; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
