Boyce, 79, passed away April 18, 2017 at the Village Health Care Facility in Indianola, Iowa. Richard was born December 26, 1937 to Dr. Leo Ray Boyce and Faith Donna (McConnell) Boyce. Son of Leo Ray Boyce and Faith Donna McConnell OBITUARY RICHARD L. BOYCE Richard L. Boyce, 79, passed away April 18, 2017 at the Village Health Care Facility in Indianola, Iowa. Richard was born December 26, 1937 to Dr. Leo Ray Boyce and Faith Donna (McConnell) Boyce. Richard spent most of his years growing up in the Garden Grove and Chariton areas. He graduated from Chariton High School in 1956. He then attended and graduated from Drake University in 1960. After graduation from Drake he joined the United States Army. He lived most of his life in the Des Moines area after returning from the Army. Richard was a longtime member of the Norwalk Methodist Church. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, taught education hunter safety courses, and a member of the Welfare Lodge No. 628 in Norwalk. He is a past master of the lodge and a 50-year Masonic member. Richard was most proud of his 36 years with Wyeth-Ayerst, later Pfizer, as a salesman. Richard enjoyed spending summers at the fishing cabin in Northern Minnesota, as well as Jeeping with the Mile-High Jeep Club in Colorado. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marjorie, son, Chris Boyce of West Des Moines, daughter, Cindy Adams of Lakewood, CO, and his step-children, Juli Gumbiner of Boulder Creek, CA, Donald Gumbiner of Chaska, MN, and Kenneth Gumbiner of Kansas City, MO.
