Description	:	Richard P. "Bud" Amaden, 75, Hicksville, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 28, 1936, in Hicksville, the son of Edwin and Marvel (Coy) Amaden. Bud was a 1955 graduate of Hicksville High School and graduated from Chicago Technical College with a draftsman degree. "Bud" Amaden, 75, Hicksville, died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 28, 1936, in Hicksville, the son of Edwin and Marvel (Coy) Amaden. Bud was a 1955 graduate of Hicksville High School and graduated from Chicago Technical College with a draftsman degree. On April 7, 1957, he was united in marriage with Phyllis Applegate and she survives. He served in the United States Army from 1959-1961. Bud worked at Robinair in Edgerton and Montpelier, farmed for Applegate-Amaden Farms, Inc. for 40 years, and retired from American Farm Bureau and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Company as a crop and claims adjuster. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served on the Session. He was also a member of Hicksville Masonic Lodge, Hicksville Athletic Boosters and a former member of the Hicksville Kiwanis. Bud is survived by three daughters, Karen (Steve) Smith of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Diane (Doug) Taulbee of Merritt Island, Florida, and Cheryl (Joe) Larry of Hicksville; six granddaughters, Amanda Benz, Briana Owens, Caitlin and Deanna Smith, Courtney McCain and Taylor Larry; four grandsons, John McCain, and Logan, Trey and Collin Taulbee; two step-grandchildren, Brittany and Joey Larry; a great-granddaughter, Braelynn McCain; two step-great-grandchildren, Chloe Larry and Gavin Hulbert; and a sister, Anna Mae (Nub) Kees of Hicksville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gregory Neal; and twin grandsons, Matthew and Michael Smith. Services for Bud will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Hicksville, with Pastor Ric Beals officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
