Description	:	Richard R. Whited, 85, of Fullerton, died Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Boone County Health Center in Albion. According to Rich, this is his second death, as he liked to tell the story of how he was born dead and the midwife brought him back to life. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton with the Reverend Janice Farrell officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, August 27th at the funeral home. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Richard was born June 21, 1932, in rural Nance County (North Star) to Harvey and Mae (Trotter) Whited. He graduated from Fullerton High School in 1950. He played football for Nebraska Central College in 1950. He married Grace Travers on November 4, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and achieved the rank of Sergeant. After, they made their residence at multiple locations before moving back to Fullerton in 1953. To this union, they were blessed with four children. Rich worked for various implement dealerships selling both John Deere and International Harvester equipment. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the American Legion in Fullerton. He was a past member of the Fullerton Hospital Board, Fullerton Volunteer Fire Department, Chamber of Commerce, and Jaycees among many others. To say he was involved in the community was an understatement. He loved his family, golfing, gardening and his lawn, his dog, and collecting John Deere toys. He also loved Nebraska sports. He is survived by his three children, Belinda (Tim) Dierks of Fullerton, Kevin (Susan) Whited of Columbus and Cara (Chad) Colvert of Bennington; sister-in-law, Louise Foreman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brother-in-law, Lee Nelson of Fullerton; seven grandchildren Danielle (Adam) Root, Christopher Dierks, Alexander, William and Amelia Whited, Taylor and Nicholas Colvert; and one great-grandchild, Mason Root He was preceded in death by his wife Grace; a son, Kent Whited; parents; sisters, Helen (Gene) Foland and Dorothy (Sam) King; brother, Leonard (Verda) Whited; sister-in-law, Ann Nelson; and brother-in-law, Harlan Foreman.
