The following information was submitted by Kristy Norman. NEAL Richard Ross "Dick" Miller , 77, of Neal died May 13, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Miller was an agent and telegrapher for the Union Pacific and Missouri-Pacific railroads for 42 years. He and his family lived in Wichita for a short time before they moved to Piqua, where they lived for 20 years, then in Hutchinson for 20 years before they moved to Hillsboro, Ore., in 1987. In November 1992, they returned to the Neal community. He was an Army veteran of World War II, have served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater. Richard Ross Miller , the son of Orr Daniel "Buster" and Gwendolyn D. Hamilton Miller , was born March 25, 1925, at Neal. He grew up in the Neal community and graduated from Neal High School in 1943. He married Lillian Bell Matlock on Sept. 24, 1941, at Iola. She died Aug. 22, 2001. Mr. Miller was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka and a member of St. Martin's Parish Knights of Columbus in Piqua. He was the treasurer of the Neal Community Fund and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by four sons, DeWayne Miller of Neal, Douglas R . Miller of Iola, Dennis Miller of Omaha, Neb., and Roy Daniel Miller of Los Angeles; a daughter, Debbie Reimer of South Hutchinson; one brother, Ernest Miller of Johnson County; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother, Buddy Miller , died earlier. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Eureka. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Thursday. Friends may call until 4 p.m. today at the Campbell-Kelley Funeral Home in Eureka.
