Read More	Fearns, Richard Sears Birth: Tuesday, July 02, 1946 in Leonardtown, Maryland Residence: Leonardtown, Maryland Death: Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the age of 69 Richard "Richie" Sears Fearns, 69, of Leonardtown, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on July 2, 1946 at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, Maryland to the late Frank William Fearns, Sr. and Eleanora Duke Fearns of Leonardtown. Richie was a proud Cub Scout and Boy Scout. He attended Father Andrew White Elementary School and Ryken High School. He later joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. Richie was very creative, loved nature, enjoyed the water, and music. He was a proficient harmonica player. His love of water took him to many places, he especially loved the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he often went camping, he was an avid fisherman, enjoyed sailing along the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and made many sailing trips to the Florida Keys, and was a scuba diver along the east coast and the Carribean. He worked in the field of construction many years. He was married to Helga Jones. Richie is survived by his mother, Eleanor Fearns, his brother, Frank (wife Susan), Linda Manekas, Sandra Battle (husband Jay), Joe Fearns (wife Cherie) and Mary Fearns. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Leonardtown Fire Department Social Hall for a celebration of Richie's life. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 299, Leonardtown, Maryland 20650 or Walden Sierra, 30007 Business Center Drive, Charlotte Hall, Maryland 20622. Arrangements provided by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home.
