Description	:	Reika Clausen was born in Norden, Germany, on the 14th day of July, 1848 and passed away at the home of her son, Henry Reiken, near Cedar Rapids, on November 23rd, 1925, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 8 days. She came to this country at the age of 25 years. She was united in holy matrimony to Ekken Reiken in the year 1878 in Peoria, Illinois. Read More	Reika Clausen was born in Norden, Germany, on the 14th day of July, 1848 and passed away at the home of her son, Henry Reiken, near Cedar Rapids, on November 23rd, 1925, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 8 days. She came to this country at the age of 25 years. She was united in holy matrimony to Ekken Reiken in the year 1878 in Peoria, Illinois. To this union were born eight children, seven of whom are still living. They are Mrs. Nancy Spiegel and Mrs. Henry Michael of Boone, Nebraska; Mrs. Anna Schwabke, of Elgin, Nebraska; Mrs. Reika McCart and Edd Reiken, of Chambers, Nebraska; George Reiken of Cushing, Nebraska and Henry E. Reiken of Cedar Rapids. In the year 1890 the family moved west, taking up their home at Humphrey, Nebraska, where they resided two years. They then came to Whitten Valley, north of Albion, where they lived for four years. They again moved, this time near Cedar Rapids, where they resided for another four years when they took up their residence in Albion where she has made her home for the past twenty-five years. Her beloved husband preceded her eleven years ago. Saturday, November 14th, she went to the home of her son Henry, near Cedar Rapids to spend a week. She was taken sick on Thursday night with a bad cold which developed into double pneumonia and pleurisy. Her condition became critical and the children were summoned to her bedside and all came. Everything was done for her that loving hands could do, but without result and she passed away on Monday morning at 9:20. She was a loving mother and had a host of friends who will feel her loss keenly. She leaves to mourn her loss, thirty-three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the German Lutheran church all her life and she loved her Savior. The funeral services were held from the German Lutheran church in Albion, Wednesday afternoon, November 25th and her body laid to rest beside her husband in Rose Hill cemetery.
