He is a native of Flag Pond, Tennessee and a son of the late Ulys and Carie Hensley Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf is a retired Truck Driver and Farmer. He attended Unaka Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Harvey Metcalf and Estel Metcalf and a sister, Jenieve King. Williams and special friend, Samrat Chatterjee of Murfreesboro, TN; Sister-In-Law: Lois Metcalf of Flag Pond; Brother-In-Law: Moloy King of Shelton Laurel, NC; Brothers: Elsie (Puny) Metcalf and wife, Gracie of Flag Pond, Tennessee, George Metcalf and wife Shirlene of Erwin; Sisters: Glenna Sparks and husband, Grady of Thaxton, VA, Aldree Slagel and husband, Jack of Woodfin, NC, Katheryn Callero of Varico, FL; Many Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services was held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Unaka Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Reverend Lonnie Wilson and Reverend Craig Shelton officiated. Vocal selections was under the direction of Dennis and Worley Shelton and Marsha, Katie and Caleb Crain. Visitation with the family was held Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at Unaka Freewill Baptist Church. Committal services followed services on Sunday at State Line Cemetery. Those serving as active pallbearers were nephews.
